Educational Qualification:

Constable (Male/Female):

• Candidates should be passed matriculation and +2 from any Institution/ School/ Board in Himachal Pradesh.

Age Limit ( As on 01 January 2024): 

• Constable (Male/Female): 
  • General/EWS: 18 to 26 Yrs
  • SC/ST/ ST Ward of Ex-SM: 18 to 28 Yrs
  • OBC/ OBC Ward of Ex-SM: 18 to 28 Yrs
  • Home Guard (Gen./OBC/EWS): 18 to 29 Yrs
  • Home Guard (SC/ST): 18 to 29 Yrs

Selection Process of HPPSC Recruitment 2024:

Physical Test: The Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be scheduled and conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department, providing the list of qualified candidates along with their marks awarded for Height to the Commission.

Written Test: Successful candidates for the Physical Test will be provisionally admitted to an offline multiple choice objective type written examination of two hours, consisting of 90 marks with negative markings, to be conducted by the Commission.

Evaluation & Document verification: Successful candidates of the Physical Test and Written Examination will be shortlisted as per the zone of consideration as per the Rules of Business of the Commission for document verification to be carried out by the Police Department ( They will also award the marks of NCC certificates to the candidates during document verification.)

Medical Examination: Medical Examination will be scheduled and conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department after receiving recommendations from the H.P. Public Service Commission

Note: The final merit list shall be made based on the marks of written examination, PSTHeight marks and evaluation- NCC Certificate marks, based on the following parameters:

• Written Test – 90 Marks
• Height – 06 Marks
• NCC Certificates – 04 Marks
• Grand Total – 100 Marks

Application Fees: 

• Male candidates of General, General Physically Disabled, Economic Weaker Section (EWS), Wards of Freedom Fighters categories, etc. – Rs. 600/-
• Candidates of Other States (including reserved category(s) candidates of other states) – Rs. 600/-
• Male candidates of SC, ST, OBC, Wards of SC/ST/OBC Freedom Fighter, etc – Rs. 150/-

Note: Female candidates shall be exempted from the examination fee by the instructions issued by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
